Royal Portrush Golf Club – Portrush:
Royal Portrush, located on the picturesque Causeway Coast, is one of Northern Ireland’s crown jewels and a historic venue in the world of golf. The Dunluce Links course, in particular, stands out for its dramatic seaside setting and challenging holes that meander along the cliffs and sand dunes. This championship course has hosted prestigious events, including The Open Championship, putting Northern Ireland firmly on the global golfing map.
Ballyliffin Golf Club:
Located in County Donegal, Ballyliffin Golf Club is a gem on the Inishowen Peninsula. The club features two outstanding 18-hole courses, the Old Course and the Glashedy Course. The Old Course, dating back to 1947, is a classic links layout with undulating fairways and challenging pot bunkers. On the other hand, the Glashedy Course, designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, is a more modern and demanding course with dramatic elevation changes and stunning views of Glashedy Rock.
Portstewart Golf Club – Portstewart:
Portstewart’s Strand Course is a must-visit for any golf enthusiast. Located along the Causeway Coast, this championship links offers mesmerising views of the North Atlantic Ocean from almost every hole. The course design takes full advantage of the natural dune formations, creating a challenging and unforgettable golfing experience.
Rosapenna Golf Resort:
Also situated in County Donegal, Rosapenna Golf Resort offers two remarkable links courses. The Old Tom Morris Course, originally designed in 1893 and later reworked by Pat Ruddy, is a historic masterpiece with rolling dunes and challenging greens. The Sandy Hills Course, designed by Pat Ruddy, is a more recent addition and presents a formidable test of golfing skill, surrounded by panoramic views of Sheephaven Bay.
Portsalon Golf Club:
Nestled on the Fanad Peninsula in County Donegal, Portsalon Golf Club is a hidden gem that should not be missed. The course offers a splendid mix of coastal and inland holes, providing breathtaking views of Ballymastocker Bay.
